Act 3 Reading Notes Macbeth

Scene 1

-banquo is thinking about the prophecies and wonders when the second prophecy will come true where someone of his line will sit on the throne. 

- Macbeths Corronation is going to take place 

- Macbeth is worried about others trying to take over his throne

- the murder of Duncan is taking its toll on Macbeth, has a conscience 

- Macbeth is visited by two people he hired

- Macbeth wants Banquo and Fleance to be killed so his throne can't be taken

Scene 2 

- Lady Macbeth calls to her husband

- Macbeth says he needs to protect the throne and kill a few more people

Scene 3

-the murderers go to kill Banquo and his son

- success in killing Banquo

- Banquo tells son to flee and avenge his death 

Scene 4

-Macbeth and Lady at feast 

- Macbeth angered that Son was not killed 

- Banquo's ghost in Macbeths path, Macbeth is terrified, 

- guests sent away 

- Macbeth feels he has to keep his throne and says this to Lady Macbeth in that he will do anything to keep it

 

Scene 5

-the witches meet with Hecate, is mad because they didn't tell her about Macbeth before they told him things 

- says they need to use charms to give Macbeth false security 

Scene 6 

- Banquo's murder has been blamed on Fleance his son,

- Macbeth is preparing for war due to threats from Malcom and Macduff 

- Malcom and Macduff think they can save Scotland.
